The VO Story Of The Year (So Far!)

Well, it’s early in 2011, but already a voice over-related story has taken the nation by storm. By now, you’ve probably heard about Ted Williams, the homeless man in Ohio with the golden voice who was featured on a local news broadcast and has become inundated with voice over jobs. It’s a truly great and heartwarming story, and we wish Mr. Williams all the best of luck.

For those of you who are following the story, we’ve put together a collection of the most pertinent interviews and news coverage of Mr. Williams, so you can see this story unfold from start to finish. Or at least, to the present moment. We have the feeling this story isn’t quite over yet, as the job offers seem to be rolling in daily! We’ll keep you posted here at the Voice Coaches Blog!

Once the story broke (garnering over 5 million views on YouTube), Mr. Wlliams received a job offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers, and starting making the morning show rounds to talk about his amazing opportunity. Here he is on The Early Show:

Next he appeared on The Today Show with Matt Lauer and Meredith Viera, where he announced that Kraft Foods has hired him to provide voice overs for their line of products!

Like we said, we’ll keep you updated as the story continues to develop! Check back soon, as we have a feeling Mr. Williams will be in the news a lot more over the next few days!
