Voice Coaches Shapes Young Minds
The Voice Coaches team has been extra busy lately shaping the young minds of the future, with recent visits to Southern Vermont College and Schenectady County Community College.

In mid-April, Voice Coaches President and Creative Director David Bourgeois was invited to guest lecture at Southern Vermont College in their Communications Department. Bourgeois spoke to a class of college students over two weeks; in the first class, he recorded the students as they performed some voice overs. The next week, he returned and played back their edited commercials to the students’ enjoyment and amazement.

“This was a great bunch of students,” says Bourgeois. “They were incredibly engaged and the class was really interactive. I think the part they enjoyed the most was hearing themselves recorded on professional equipment and fully produced. We had a lot of fun over the two days in class.”

In March, Voice Coaches producer Bobby Chase and Director of Communications Mike Spring visited Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) for their annual High School Career Day. For the event, 10th graders from all across New York’s Capital Region were bused in to SCCC’s campus where they were able to speak with professionals from careers as varied as nursing, law enforcement, theater, cooking, and more.

Mike and Bobby spent the day answering questions about voice acting, production, music composition, and the recording studio atmosphere. Several hundred teenagers passed through the exhibit area and stopped to talk to the Voice Coaches team.

“It was a great event and a really enjoyable day, and I was impressed by the amount of questions we got from these 10th graders. I couldn’t believe how many of them were interested to learn about the recording studio and what Voice Coaches does every day. I was extremely pleased to be a part of the event,” said Mike Spring.
