I've been through the Voice Coaches training, made my demo and am sending it out, and am in the process of setting up my home studio (buying equipment). I can think of nothing cooler than to be able to do voice over work full time. It is something I've wanted to do since I was a little kid- there was a top 40 song when I was a kid called "I wanna be a base man" about an acapella base singer- I used to practice that day and nite. Now in my 50's it is actually in site! I've been reading the reports and transcripts from the Expo and they are awesome- hopefully I'll be able to go next time. I can't wait to call up and say I've got a paying gig! I've been told all my life I've got a great voice but I never knew how or what to do about it. I didn't need CNN to tell me it was cool but it's nice to get confirmation! What could be better than working with voice actors all day long? As an English/Journalism major in college, I always view mainstream media with a critical eye, but once in a while they do actually approach things from a realistic point of view, and I'm glad that CNN recognizes what a fun and exciting profession voice acting is. With the amount of voice overs a network like that uses, I'm sure they have a real perspective on how important voice acting is to the world of media and entertainment. It's nice to see they're not keeping it a secret! Well done, CNN! And here I thought I had the greatest job in the world! What could be better than working with voice actors all day long?
