The BBB Awards Voice Coaches

Everyone at Voice Coaches is proud to announce a certificate presented to us by The Better Business Bureau commending us on three years of continuous operation with no complaint or concern issues.

Though this is a new award process for the BBB, it is not a new business practice for Voice Coaches. We have been fortunate to remain complaint issue free for our entire corporate history with the BBB.

“This is a wonderful recognition of something we strive to do automatically” commented Voice Coaches Operations Manager Jenny Marcotte. “I have to say that though the entire team is very customer oriented, Administrative Director Kristen Neary takes an up front roll when it comes to dealing with the day to day needs of our clients” continued Marcotte. “We provide training across the country, Canada, the UK, and now the Middle East.” “Things do sometimes go wrong, shipments can get lost, bad weather causes schedule issues, you never know what can come up” added Marcotte. “The way to best serve our clients is to be there to support them when things go well, and when there is an issue.”

Everyone at Voice Coaches wishes to thank the Better Business Bureau for this recognition. We will continue to provide exceptional service to the client who make our success possible.

Shotgun

The view from the passengers seat

Calling shotgun prior to departing for a destination indicates to all other travelers in your group, that you prefer the passengers seat. Strangely, the passengers seat is where many people choose to spend nearly every day of their entire life.

When it comes to pursuing the things that we really want to do, the things we imagine we would enjoy, the things we secretly know we could be really good at, most folks choose to remain in the passengers seat. In effect, they are actually calling shotgun on their lives. Instead of pursuing goals, many just sit back and watch as others move closer to their dreams.

People often narrow their focus to things that they feel they have to do, and at the same time find any excuse to sidestep the things that they want to do. This is in no way limited to the voice over field, it is a condition that is without boundaries. We put off vacations, time with our families, visiting landmarks, changing careers, splurging on toys, and trying new things.

There is always a reason to put anything off, and the truth is, there always will be.

There are many names you might use to refer to the rare individual who boldly moves forward. The person who, doesn’t see the small risk in doing something different, but instead sees the enormous risk of delay.

You may refer to this person as… different… or …crazy… or even …unrealistic.

I most often simply refer to this kind of person as… HAPPY!

My advice… get out of the passenger seat. You’ll have much more control when you are behind the wheel.

I hope you’re Happy in 2009!

Chris Scharling Leaves Voice Coaches

Many of our clients have had an opportunity to work with Voice Coaches Lead Engineer Chris Scharling over the past three years. Chris began as an engineering assistant and worked his way up to engineering and producing our projects for clients including Discovery Network, HGTV, The New York State Governors Office, and many others. Chris also provided voice over services to a broad range of clients. Last Friday was Chris’s last day as a full time member of our team. He will remain an audio consultant on a part time basis with both Voice Coaches and our sister company Bourgeois Farmer Productions. We are proud to report that Chris accepted a position with video gaming leader Vicarious Visions. The company, a division of activision, is responsible for creating some of the best selling video games of all time. Because of confidentiality agreements Chris must remain tight lipped about some of his upcoming audio assignments, but we can tell you he is currently working on continued development for the infamous game Guitar Hero.

This is an enormous opportunity for Chris who is a lifelong gaming enthusiast.

He wanted to ensure that I conveyed his wish of success to all those he has worked with.

For Voice Coaches, although Chris’s departure is a great loss, it should act as a reminder to our clients that we are very serious about placing our students with instructors like Chris who have significant industry skill and knowledge.

The only trouble is… many of our folks inevitably are recruited!!

Please leave a comment for Chris. I know he would love to see them!!

Thanks For Everything Chris!
